CH Czarcrest's Double Dare Ya! ("Darby") is seen here at the Fort Wayne shows with handler Courtney Kniola and breeder Michele Czarnecki. This was Darby's first time out as a Special. After winning Breed she made the cut in a very strong group.

CH Czarcrest's Cure for the Blues RN ("Curtis") earned his third leg for his CD title in Novice B at the Quad Cities Dog Obedience Club Trial on October 17, 2009 with a second placement and a score of 190 1/2 under Judge Robert Burgin. Curtis earned his CD in 3 consecutive trials, earning his first 2 legs at Peoria Obedience Training Club in September. Congratulations to owner, trainer and handler Carol Walker!

("Keegan") received a Group 3 win at the Stone City Kennel Club show on Oct.
4th, 2009. Thanks to Judge Merle Taylor for this honor. Keegan is bred by
Michele Czarnecki and Cookie Pajak and co-owned by Theresa Hawryszkow and
Michele Czarnecki.

Czarcrest's True Blue ("Trudy") earned her first point at the Stone City Kennel Club Show under judge Julie Felton, going Winners Bitch and Best of Opposite Sex. Trudy is bred by Michele Czarnecki and Susan Chapman and owned and handled by Michele Czarnecki.

U-CDX U-AGII Czarcrest's Carefree Chloe CDX RE OA OAJ OAP OJP ("Chloe") earned her third leg in Excellent JWW Preferred with a first placement and her AJP title at Peoria Obedience Training Club agility trial on October 3. 2009. Another great performance by Chloe and owner Carol Walker!

Czarcrest's Double Dare Ya! ("Darby") finished her Championship on Oct 1, 2009 at the Hatboro Kennel Club in Montgomery County, PA under judge Ms. Jane Carberry. Darby won over 22 Bitches this day! Congratulation to Darby's owners, Chris Heroy and Michele Czarnecki. Darby is bred by Michele Czarnecki and handled by Vanessa Fleming.

"Karson" Makes a Guest Appearance! On August 20th a singleton Puli puppy was born by C-section to Breeders Patty Anspach and Susan McConnell of Wyldmor Kennels. Unfortunately, this Puli's mother was unable to take care of him. Dr. MaryAnn Sheller called Michele and asked if she would be willing to take the Puli puppy and raise him with CH Czarcrest 06 Karley Davidson's litter that was born five days earlier. After talking with Karley's co-owner Caitlin Hawryszkow, Michele agreed to take on Karson.
Karley was not sure about Karson at first, but now accepts him as one of her own. It's a joy to see the three of them nursing together. Karley is a wonderful mom, even to her adopted Hungarian son. Karson's parents are: CH Catsun Corinth x CH Moremi Mind Your Manners. Karleys' puppies parents are: CH Czarcrest's Cure For The Blues RN x CH Czarcrest's '06 Karley Davidson CGC.

Czarcrest's Hey Look Me Over! ("Mia") completed her Championship on July 5, 2009 at the Greater DeKalb Kennel Club under judge Cindy Meyer.
Mia finished at 17 months
of age entered in only 9 shows, most of them Specialties on the way to her
title. She earned her first major at the West Highland White Terrier
Club of Northern Illinois Specialty held in conjunction with the International
Kennel Club Show in February. She went on to earn another major at the
WHWTCNI Specialty show on June 13, 2009 and then the next day at Chain O' Lakes
supported entry, she earned her third major going Winners Bitch, Best of Winners
and Best of Breed over Specials. Along the way to her Championship, Mia
was chosen Best In Sweepstakes by three different breeder judges and Best of
Opposite Sex in Sweepstakes at the National Roving Specialty in Louisville this
year.

Susan Chapman is all smiles after two of her dogs earned Rally Titles on July 5 at the Greater DeKalb Kennel Club Show. BISS CH Czarcrest's Blue Moon TD, RE, NAJ, NAP OJP, ME ("Blue") earned his third leg to complete his Rally Excellent title, while Czarcrest's Bonnie Wee Blue Angel RN ("Kimmie") earned her Rally Novice title. Czarcrest's Hey Look Me Over! ("Mia") earned her third major at the Chain O' Lakes Kennel Club supported entry on June 14, the day after the West Highland White Terrier Club of Northern Illinois Specialty at Grayslake, Illinois (where she earned her second major). Mia earned Winners Bitch, Best of Winners, and Best of Breed over Specials. It was a special day!
Earlier in the day, Mia earned another Best In Sweepstakes under Breeder Judge Kathy Latz. Mia is co-bred and co-owned by Bob & Deanna Bassett and Michele Czarnecki and handled and conditioned by Michele Czarnecki

Czarcrest's Hero's Hope NAJ ("Hope") earns her Junior Earthdog title at the Badger Dachshund Club Earthdog Test in Roscoe, Illionis on May 23, 2009 under Judge Gail LeBerge. Hope made it to the rats in only 9 seconds! Congratulations to Hope's owner and trainer Susan Chapman.

April 24th at just under 15 years of age. Czarcrest Westies extends our
most heartfelt condolences to Carol and Gordon Walker.
Woody was one of Czarcrest's most accomplished working dogs, trained and handled exclusively by Carol Walker.

CH Czarcrest's Double Latte ("Teyah") qualifies for her Junior Earthdog Title at the Golden Gate Dachshund Club Earthdog Test held in Patterson, CA on May 2, 2009 under Judge Terry Broderick.
The following day, May 3, CH Czarcrest's Double Helix SE ("Ben") earned his first leg toward the Master Earthdog Title at the Golden Gate Dachshund Club Earthdog Test held in Patterson, CA under Judge Dennis Broderick. Teyah and Ben are owned, trained and handled in Earthdog by Judy Baird.

Czarcrest's Hey Look Me Over! ("Mia") earns another Best in Sweepstakes at the West Highland White Terrier Club of Southeastern Michigan Specialty on April 25, 2009 from the 12 to 15 month class under Judge, Westie Breeder Ms. Fredia Loveland from Alpharetta, GA.
Mia is bred and handled by Michele Czarnecki and owned by Bob and Deanna Bassett and Michele Czarnecki.

Czarcrest's newest Champion is CH Czarcrest '06 Karley Davidson CGC ("Karley")! Karley finished her Championship with a bang on April 24, 2009 at the Terrier Club of Michigan show in Birch Run, Michigan. She took Best of Winners and Best of Breed under Judge Betsy Dale for her second major. She also took Best of Breed for a second time on April 25th under judge Mr. SN Weiss. Karley is owned by Caitlin Hawryszkow and Michele Czarnecki and has been expertly handled by Mary Beecher-Padgett and Craig Padgett. Karley is the 42nd Czarcrest Champion and the 4th Champion of 2009. Now on to the performance ring!

On April 19, 2009 Michele Czarnecki and Susan Chapman hosted a celebration/ thank you party at Leona's Restaurant in Oak Lawn, IL for Czarcrest Westie owners that have recently completed their dogs' Championship. We also celebrated the finishing of all the members of the litter referred to as "The Blue Man Group". Those in attendance were: Chris Heroy, owner of CH Czarcrest's Blue Chip, Carol Walker, owner of CH Czarcrest's Cure For The Blues RN, and Lisa and Steve Herff, owner of CH Czarcrest's Shades of Blue.
Also in attendance were the owners of our two other new Champions, Theresa and Mike Hawryszkow, owners of CH Czarcrest's Midsummer Knight, and Marcia and Gary Freeland, owners of CH Czarcrest's Haley's Comet. Other guests included Jan and Ken Parcel, Susan and John Chapman, and Michele and John Czarnecki.
With great food and great fellowship and lots of dog talk, everyone had a great time.

Indiana Specialty on March 13,2009 with a large entry under Breeder Judge Mary
Bradley. Mia went on to win 1st place in the 12-15 month regular classes.

Straight from the Earth!......CH Czarcrest's Double Helix SE ("Ben") is now a Senior Earthdog. Ben passed his third earthdog leg for the SE title on February 22 at the Northern California Dachshund Club test held in Woodland, California under judge Carol Hamilton. Weather was rainy, windy, and muddy! Ben is owned by Brian and Judy Baird and Michele Czarnecki.

Czarcrest's Shades of Blue ("Shay") completed his Championship at the International Kennel Club on February 21 under Judge Cindy Vogel going winners dog for his last single point. Shay was handled at this show by Jan Parcel. Now it's CH Czarcrest's Shades of Blue!
Shay is owned by Steve & Lisa Herff and Michele Czarnecki. Shay is the 41st Champion for Czarcrest Westies and is the 13th Champion sired by BISS CH Czarcrest's Blue Moon TD RA NAP OJP ME MV ROM.

Czarcrest's Haley's Comet ("Haley") became the second new Czarcrest Champion for 2009 completing her Championship at the Hoosier Kennel Club on February 13 under Judge Dr. Andreas Schemel. Haley won her second major going Best of Winners to complete her title. Haley is also a multiple Sweepstakes winner as well as a Specialty winner. Haley was handled as a puppy by Michele Czarnecki and was handled and conditioned as an adult by Carolyn Reinders, assisted by and seen here with Angela Humpert.

Czarcrest Westies was saddened this week to learn of the passing of Brinkley of Czarcrest ("Brinkley").
Brinkley dabbled in modeling.......who could resist that face?
Brinkley accompanied his owners in their many travels across the country, winning the hearts of all he met along the way.
Our most heartfelt condolences go out to Brinkley's owners, Leanna and Xen Griveas. We know they will miss Brinkley, just as the many people whose lives he touched along the way will never forget him. Rest In Peace, Brinkley!

Our thanks to judges Mr. Stephen Hurt and Mrs. Kathleen Grosse for awarding him Winners Dog and Best of Opposite honors on both days. Keegan is handled by Craig Padgett. Czarcrest Westies recently received the following note from Sharyn Austin, owner of 6 year old KoDee......... Thought you would like this picture of KoDee and Sadie (my 3 year old granddaughter). She was "reading" my little book about Westies and said: "Grandma, I want to read it to KoDee". I told her he was outside. She sat down in the grass and "read" it to him - and he seemed to listen!!
