December 2012 U-AGII U-CDX CH Czarcrest's Cure For The Blues CDX RN AXP NJP NFP ("Curtis"), U-AGII CH Czarcrest's Can U Keep A Secret? NA NAJ ("Keeper"), and U-ACH U-CDX Czarcrest's Carefree Chloe CDX RE OA OAJ AMP MJP OF ("Chloe") and guest dog Czarcrest's Look of Love ("Lovee") pose for the 2012 Walker Christmas photo. Lovee came to visit with the Walkers while Michele took a much-needed and well-deserved vacation with her family. Carol reports that Lovee was such a good little house guest, she had to be included in the photo. Curtis, Keeper, Chloe and Lovee all wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year!
November 2012 BISS CH Czarcrest's Blue Moon VCD1 RAE OA OAJ AJP NF ME ("Blue"), owned by Susan Chapman and Michele Czarnecki, was awarded the Performance Registry of Merit (PROM) by the West Highland White Terrier Club of America (WHWTCA) for siring 4 offspring with Versatile Dog Awards from the WHWTCA and an additional 6 offspring with performance titles. Blue is also the sire of 17 champions and was previously awarded the WHWTCA Registry of Merit (ROM). Blue's performance offspring include the following dogs:
CH Czarcrest's Bonnie Wee Blue Angel CD BN RE AX AXJ NF SE ("Bean"), owned by Susan Chapman and Michele Czarnecki earned her Senior Earthdog title and the first leg toward her Master Earthdog title on Labor Day weekend at the Madison Area Dachshund Club tests. Bean finished her Excellent Agility Jumpers title at the Welsh Terrier Club of America trial in Kimberton, PA on October 3rd. Bean also earned 2 Rally Advanced Excellent legs at the Kimberton Events, winning High Combined Advanced B and Excellent B at the West Highland White Terrier Club of America trial. Bean also finished her Novice Obedience title with a first place in her class at the Specialty. Czarcrest's Hero's Hope RE AX AXJ OF ME EE ("Hope"), owned by Susan Chapman and Michele Czarnecki, earned her Agility Excellent title at the Welsh Terrier Club of America trial in Kimberton, PA on October 3rd. CH Bonniewee Bit O' Blue Heaven CAT ("Celtie"), owned by Ginny Nelson and Karen Shinoda, earned her comformation Championship on September 9th at the Altoona Area Kennel Association in Ebensburg, PA, following 2 majors the previous weekend at the Marquette Kennel Club in Marquette, MI. Celtie was handled to these wins by Courtney Kniola. On October 20th, Celtie finished her Coursing Ability title. Celtie was sired by Czarcrest's Blue Moon and is his 17th Champion offspring.
September 2012 Czarcrest Westies' first Lure Coursing title earned by CH Czarcrest's Double Helix CA ("Ben") on September 30, 2012. Congratulations to owners Judy and Brian Baird!

September 2012 U-AGII U-CDX CH Czarcrest's Cure For The Blues CDX RN AXP NJP NFP ("Curtis") earned his Agility Excellent Preferred title (AXP) at the Dog Training Club of Champaign-Urbana's agility trials. Curtis earned his second leg with a first placement on Saturday, September 22 and his third leg with a first placement on Sunday, September 23. Curtis' daughter, U-AGII CH Czarcrest's Can U Keep A Secret NA NAJ ("Keeper") earned her third leg and Novice Agility title (NA) with a first placement on Saturday, September 22. Another great performance by Carol Walker and her Westies!
September 2012 U-AGII U-CDX CH Czarcrest's Cure for the Blues CDX N OAP NJP NF ("Curtis") earned his CDX title on September 15 at the Peoria Obedience Training Center with a first placement under judge Mike Peifer. Curtis is pictured with judge Catherine Thompson on September 16 when he earned another leg and first placement. Congratulations to Carol Walker and Curtis on this accomplishment.

August 2012 Czarcrest Westies proudly announces our 49th Champion, CH Czarcrest's Knight Ryder ("Ryder"). Ryder finished his Championship 2 days past his first birthday with his third major under respected judge Ann Hearn at the Berrien Kennel Club show on June 24, 2012. Special thanks to Courtney Kniola for his first 5 points. Ryder is sired by CH Czarcrest's Midsummer Knight and out of CH Czarcrest's "06 Karley Davidson. Ryder is bred by Michele Czarnecki, Caitlin Giordiano and Theresa Hawryszkow. Ryder is owned by Michele Czarnecki and Janine and Jim Giobbia.
July 2012 photo courtesy of Jamie Parker As 2012 rapidly rolls along, I would like to recap our many accomplishments thus far. The combination of excessive heat and draught have not deterred our enthusiasm for Westie activities.
CH Czarcrest's Blue Moon ("Blue") has become a qualifier for the Performance Registry of Merit (PROM) thanks to the hard work of Susan Chapman and others. PROM is a special award designed by the West Highland White Terrier Club of America. For a dog to earn this award, he must be the sire of 4 offspring with Versatile Dog Awards and an additional 6 offspring with performance titles. Blue is the first Czarcrest Westie to achieve this recognition. Congratulations to Blue and Susan for this outstanding effort.

Also in the conformation ring this summer is Czarcrest's Double With A Twist ("Tristan"). Watch for Tristan as he begins his show career in the capable hands of Courtney Kniola.
Czarcrest dogs have also been busy in the performance ring....... Carol Walker with Chloe, Curtis and Keeper; Susan Chapman with Hope, Bean and Blue; Judy Baird with Ben and Teyah; and Marty Koole with Tag. Scroll through the News page to see more about their accomplishments.
The whelping box is in use once again as GCH CH Czarcrest's Hey Look Me Over! ("Mia") produced her first litter of four, 1 female and 3 males, sired by CH Czarcrest's Knight Ryder ("Ryder"). Watch for more puppy photos in the coming weeks.

July 2012 Marty Koole checks in to let us know what she and Tag have been up to. Tag has been a very busy boy!
Tag qualified for his first leg in Senior Earthdog in October 2011, earned his Beginner Novice title in March 2012 and qualified for his second leg of Companion Dog in June 2012. Tag is also beginning to track and may start agility in the fall.
July 2012 Carol Walker, Curtis, Chloe and Keeper have been very active in the performance ring this year. Congratulations Carol and the gang.
U-CD U-AGII CH Czarcrest's Cure for the Blues CD RN OAP NJP ("Curtis") earned his U-AGI and U-AGII (United Agility I and II) titles in February and his NFP (Novice Fast Preferred) title in March.
U-CDX U-ACH Czarcrest's Carefree Chloe CDX RE OA OAJ AXP MJP NF ("Chloe") earned her MJP (Master Agility Jumpers) title in January and her U-ACH (United Agility Champion) title in April.
U-AGII CH Czarcrest's Can U Keep a Secret? NAJ ("Keeper") earned her U-AGI title in February, her U-AGII title in April and her NAJ (Novice Agility Jumpers) title in June.
April 2012 Czarcrest's Rhythm and Blues ("Memphis") and Czarcrest's Knight Rider ("Ryder") went to their first dog show at Steel City Kennel Club on April 14, 2012. It was the first time in the ring for both dogs as well as Memphis' owner, Pam Scarborough. Judge Desmond Murphy awarded Ryder Winners Dog, Best of Winners, and Best of Opposite Sex.
Memphis earned Reserve Winners Dog.
April 2012 Carol Walker reports that U-AGII U-CDX Czarcrest's Carefree Chloe CDX RE OA OAJ AXP MJP NF ("Chloe") earned her U-ACH title on April 1 at United Piece of Cake's UKC agility trial. Chloe had 4 perfect runs on March 31 and April 1, earning 40 points which put her over the 100 point requirement for the United Agility Champion title. Chloe is pictured with her ribbons and the bar she was given for her new title, which was signed by everyone.
U-AGI CH Czarcrest's Can U Keep A Secret? ("Keeper") earned 1 leg in AGII on March 31 and 2 legs on April 1 with 3 first placements for her U-AGII title. Congratulations to Carol and the girls on their accomplishments!
March 2012 CH Czarcrest's Mi'Wee Griffin RN CGC ROM March 28,1999 - March 14,2012
My Beloved Griffin crossed the Rainbow Bridge. He was just shy of his 13th birthday. He took a piece of my heart with him. Griffin was greatly loved. Rest in Peace Griffin. You will always be my boy. Griffin was the sire of 12 Champions.
March 2012 Carol Walker reports a number of accomplishments in agility so far in 2012. U-AGII U-CDX Czarcrest's Carefree Chloe CDX RE OA OAJ AXP AJP NF ("Chloe") earned her 10th leg in Excellent Jumpers Preferred for her MJP title in January at Scott County Kennel Club's agility trial. U-CD CH Czarcrest's Cure For The Blues CD RN OAP NJP ("Curtis") earned his third leg in Novice Fast Preferred for his NFP title in March at Peoria Obedience Training Club.
Curtis and daughter CH Czarcrest's Can U Keep A Secret? ("Keeper") earned titles at United Piece of Cake's agility trial in February. Curtis earned his U-AGI and U-AGII titles and Keeper also earned two legs in Novice Jumpers at Peoria Obedience Training Club in March. The Walker Westies are off to a good start in 2012!

February 2012 On February 10, 2012 Czarcrest's Hero's Hope ("Hope") and CH Czarcrest's True Blue ("Trudy") set out for the Indy Winter Classic in Indianapolis with trainer/owner Susan Chapman. Hope had her heart set on earning her Rally Excellent Title, while Trudy had her sights set on a Rally Novice Title. Both achieved their goals with both girls placing in the ribbons. Susan had this photo taken at the show to celebrate the occasion.
January 2012 On the weekend of January 21, 2012, Michele Czarnecki and Susan Chapman traveled to Gavilan Hill, California on the invitation of Mary Bradley to see and evaluate puppies. They saw nine puppies in all, six of them sired by CH Czarcrest's Midsummer's Knight, While Michele and Susan were in California, Judy Baird drove down to visit and brought Tristan along. Michele would like to thank Mary and Walt Bradley for their warm hospitality and a wonderful time.
January 2012 Several Czarcrest Westie owners were among the members of the West Highland White Terrier Club of Northern Illinois who attended the annual election brunch on January 8, 2012. Good food, fellowship and even a few raffle prizes were enjoyed by the group.
