Meet the Breeder

Michele Czarnecki has been involved in showing purebred dogs all of her adult life.  Michele and her husband John met showing dogs in obedience.  She did some limited breeding of Miniature Schnauzers in her early twenties.

In 1987, after losing her Schnauzers to old age, Michele purchased her first West Highland White Terrier puppy.  She has always been a Terrier lover!  Nina grew to become not only the queen of the Czarnecki home, but also a lovely show dog and a wonderful producer.

"Nina", Czarcrest's foundation bitch, was recognized by the West Highland White Terrier Club of America in 1993 as a top producer receiving a Brood Bitch Award from the Parent Club.

She went on to produce eight Champions in her breeding career.  Most Czarcrest dogs even today go back to her somewhere in their pedigree.  She is also the great grandmother of the 2001 Westminster Winner.  Czarcrest Westies is very proud of all Nina's descendants.

Michele has been a member of the West Highland White Terrier Club of Northern Illinois since 1990, serving as Vice President in 2011 and 2012,  She is also a menber of the West Highland White Terrier Club of America since 1989, serving on the Board of Directors from 2005 to 2008.

In this picture Nina is shown winning Best of Breed at the Corn Belt Kennel Club Show.  She also received two group placements from the regular classes on the way to her Championship title.

Since the early days with Nina, Czarcrest Westies has continued to consistently produce quality West Highland White Terriers, resulting in the breeding of 58 AKC Champions to date.
